“ First time at Popei's, we went for lunch. Service was very good, the ambiance is very casual, menu has an extensive selection. The garlic bread was a nice change from regular Italian bread. The seafood bisque was flavorful, the steamers were a little bland, the lobster tail was cooked perfectly. It comes with a stuffed clam which was flavorful. They give free refills for soft drinks. ”

“ Service is exceptional. The waiter gave me an extra cup of ice on the side just because she wasn't sure if I wanted it or not. They also gave us an extra cannoli! The seats outside were the only ones available but I prefer it out here as it is nice and calm. Food was DELICIOUS!! Definitely recommend the lobster or shrimp scampi with linguine. ”

“ Catered Popei's for the first time over the summer. The food and delivery service were top notch, large portions with all the fixings. All my guest kept asking where the food was from. We had a mix of seafood & pasta, everything was good. Extra points for oyster delivery! Dined in for the 1st time on Sunday night, casual atmosphere, wasn't too busy, quick, friendly service. The staff is so attentive and friendly. Portions are huge so come here hungry or with a group! Party of 2 we took more than 1/2 of our food home. Stuffed mushrooms & Caesar salad are a great starters. I had the shrimp linguine with spicy marinara, delicious, the sauce could have been a little spicer. Full bar, free refills on soft drinks, & I saw a sign for valet parking in front. ”

“ One word...Fantastic. I had the Manhattan soup for an appetizer. It was rich and hearty...served piping hot. My entree was a lunch sized portion of shrimp fettuccine. The Alfredo sauce was probably the best I've tasted...ever. The shrimp were huge and cooked to perfection. What a treat this meal was! When the asked if I wanted a dessert and coffee, I had to decline as I was stuffed. The chef came out and checked to see if everything was good. The restaurant has a familial ambiance to it. ”

“ Having read a number of positive reviews I thought it would be a good idea to check this place out for myself. Great decision. Hostess was very welcoming and that same upbeat vibe continued with all staff that with whom we interacted. Server was excellent and explained each special. I'm a big fan of ordering from a daily specials menu. You can always get the regular menu items anytime. Skirt steak and lobster was a nice choice. The fried shrimp platter from the regular menu was fresh and crispy. Nice size fresh salad was my side dish choice along with accompanying vegetables. Popei's in Bethpage has a reputation for serving fresh fish and they did for sure. Started with oyster and really crispy, non greasy, calamari. Full bar. Valet parking. There's a reason they are always busy. Make a res to be safe. ”

“ This is one of those cramped dimly lit sticky floor places with super friendly servers and lots of customers...so you know it's going to be good. All the seafood and pastas were delicious, flavors were authentic, and our servers were so friendly...always coming back with a smile and making sure we were happy. It's busy but we didn't wait long for a Sunday night, it was still so crowded though. We were with family and it was kid friendly, nothing fancy but definitely worth the visits. ”

“ One of my favorite places on Long Island. Has a small parking lot but well worth parking far and walking the rest.. Great, friendly service and a very cheerful atmosphere. My order was prepared and served very quickly. Food is delicious and well-balanced. It's hard to find better fish dishes than Popei's in the area. I recommend the flounder fish and chips with seasoned waffle fries. ”

“ We had a great date night here to kick if Memorial Day Weekend. How we wish we lived closer. Hubby had baked clams - the homemade house ones. Loved them. Big piece of clams. Lots of clam vs bread. The he had the crab stuffed flounder. He said it is some of the best he has had. And that's saying something. I had the stuffed artichoke. I learned I liked steamed vs stuffed better. That said I made it work And followed this with the king crab scampi. It was the same sauce on the artichoke and king crab - or it seemed that way to me. I asked for some lemon and drawn butter. That gave me a little change up with was appreciated. This dish is the best king crab deal I have seen. If you like king crab, check it out!! Also had an ear of corn - wow. It was sweet and perfectly cooked. The white sangria special was a hit. Crisp light and fruit forward. Service was friendly. The entire place sings for your birthday. So fun so family friendly. ”
